Company: Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW Group) Location: Dingolfing, Germany Department: Human Resources / Employer Branding Start Date: 01 February 2026 Duration: 6 Months (Standard Internship Duration) Application Status: Open

Program Overview

The BMW Group is a world leader in premium mobility, but our engines are not the only things that drive us—our people do. We are currently seeking a passionate Intern in Recruiting and Student Marketing to join our Human Resources team at the Dingolfing Plant.

Why Dingolfing? The Dingolfing plant is one of the BMW Group’s most significant manufacturing sites worldwide. It produces the BMW 4, 5, 7, and 8 Series, as well as the all-electric BMW iX. By joining this team, you are not just working in “an office”; you are the gateway for new talent entering one of Europe’s largest industrial hubs.

In this role, you will move beyond administrative tasks to become a true Talent Scout and Brand Ambassador. You will shape the first impression young talent has of BMW, managing everything from their initial application to their first day on the job.

What You Will Learn & Do

This internship is designed to give you a 360-degree view of the recruitment lifecycle. You will gain practical skills in three core areas:

1. Talent Acquisition & Selection

  • The Process: You will support the recruiting team in organizing and conducting the selection process for trainees and apprentices.

  • Active Participation: You will not just watch; you will be involved in screening applications, communicating with candidates, and coordinating interviews. You will learn how to identify the “BMW DNA” in applicants.

  • Vocational Training: You will work closely with the vocational training department, ensuring that the next generation of mechanics, engineers, and logistic experts are selected fairly and efficiently.

2. Student Marketing & Employer Branding

  • Event Management: You will organize and conduct internal and external events, including trade fairs for students and parents. Your goal is to market BMW as the employer of choice.

  • Campaign Execution: You will assist in implementing innovative student marketing measures. This could involve social media campaigns, university outreach, or local school partnerships to attract top talent.

3. Operational HR Management

  • Program Management: You will assist with the preparation and organization of the Student Internship Program. This involves coordinating start dates, onboarding sessions, and departmental rotations.

  • Daily Business: You will contribute to office organization and the daily business of the team. This teaches you the rigorous organizational skills required to manage a department of thousands of employees.

Eligibility Criteria

To be successful in this role, you must be a “people person” with strong organizational skills.

Academic Background:

  • You must be currently enrolled in a degree program in Business Administration, Sociology, Communication Studies, Psychology, or a comparable field.

  • Note: This role is ideal for students who are required to complete a mandatory internship as part of their studies.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Language: Fluent German is mandatory (C1/C2 level) as you will be interviewing local candidates and communicating with German vocational schools.

  • IT Skills: Safe use of Office 365 (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint) is required for managing candidate databases and presentations.

  • Driving License: A Class B Driving License is required, likely for traveling to trade fairs and events in the region.

  • Soft Skills: You need “organizational talent,” a confident demeanor, and strong analytical skills. You must be comfortable speaking in front of groups (students/parents).

Experience:

  • Prior practical experience in Human Resources is desirable but not mandatory. If you have volunteered or worked in customer service, highlight that experience.

Internship Benefits

BMW Group is famous for its student culture. You will not be fetching coffee; you will be treated as a full team member.

  • Mentorship: Comprehensive mentoring and onboarding to ensure you succeed.

  • Housing: Apartments for students are available (subject to availability, primarily at the Munich location, but support is often provided for Dingolfing).

  • Flexibility: Flexible working hours and mobile working options.

  • Compensation: Attractive and fair compensation that reflects the responsibility of the role.

Educational Guide: How to Ace this Application

1. Understand “Employer Branding” This role is half HR, half Marketing. When writing your cover letter, do not just talk about “liking people.” Talk about how you would sell the idea of working at BMW to a high school student. How would you convince a young engineer that Dingolfing is better than a tech startup? Show your marketing mindset.

2. Highlight Organization You will be coordinating hundreds of applications and events. Give concrete examples of your organizational skills. Did you run a student club? Did you organize a conference? Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to prove you can handle logistics.

3. The German Factor Since fluency is required, ensure your application documents (CV and Cover Letter) are in flawless German. This is the first test of your communication skills.
