Coca-Cola Kwanza, a subsidiary of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA), is offering an exciting career opportunity for a high-performing Country Lead: Market Insights. This pivotal role sits within our Sales and Marketing function and is designed for a data-driven strategist who can turn complex market data into actionable business intelligence.
As the Country Lead, you will not just be reporting numbers; you will be the “strategic brain” behind our commercial decisions. You will work directly with the Revenue Growth and Trade Marketing Director to shape how we price, package, and distribute our products across Tanzania. Your insights will drive our competitive edge, ensuring that we continue to refresh Tanzania while maintaining our market leadership.

Key Duties and Strategic Responsibilities
The Country Lead will be responsible for four critical pillars of our commercial strategy:
1. Actionable Market Insights & Strategy

Strategic Influence: You will be the primary source of truth for market trends. Your mandate is to deliver quality market insights and specialist knowledge that influence key business decisions across functions and regions.

Execution Support: You will ensure the successful execution of CCBA’s strategic objectives by providing data that validates our route-to-market strategies and campaign investments.

Trend Analysis: proactively identify emerging consumer trends in the Tanzanian beverage sector before they become mainstream, giving Coca-Cola the first-mover advantage.
2. Research Management & Data Integrity

Syndicated Reports: You will ensure the availability, accuracy, and timely delivery of syndicated reports (e.g., retail audit data).

Study Leadership: Define research needs and lead bespoke studies that support decision-making. This includes deep-dive analysis into customer satisfaction, competitor activity, and category performance.

Data Governance: Manage the integrity of our data sources, ensuring that the business relies on a “single source of truth” for all commercial planning.
3. Pricing Strategy & Econometric Modeling

Pricing Architecture: This is a highly technical aspect of the role. You will support the creation of short-, medium-, and long-term pricing strategies.

Modeling: Utilize deep market knowledge and econometric modeling to predict how price changes will impact volume and revenue. You will help balance the delicate equation of affordability for the Tanzanian consumer versus profitability for the business.

Revenue Growth Management (RGM): collaborate with the RGM team to identify “white space” opportunities in our price-pack architecture.
4. Category Development & Performance Management

Category Captaincy: Develop data platforms for category interaction and drive superior category development initiatives. You will equip our sales teams with the arguments they need to win at the point of purchase.

Dashboards & Reporting: Lead the development of automated reports and interactive dashboards that track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at a national level.

Agility: These tools must allow stakeholders to easily monitor operational performance against growth objectives, enabling quick adjustments to tactics in a fast-moving market.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
To be considered for this senior leadership role, candidates must meet the following strict criteria:
Academic Background:

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Management, Statistics, or a related quantitative field is mandatory.
Professional Experience:

6–8 years of experience in market knowledge, insights, and/or research team leadership.

Experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector is highly preferred due to the fast-paced nature of our business.

Demonstrated experience in managing syndicated data agencies (e.g., Nielsen, Kantar) is a distinct advantage.
Technical Competencies:

Data Translation: Strong understanding of consumer, shopper, and market insights with the unique ability to translate complex datasets into simple, actionable business tactics.

Analytical Mastery: Ability to extract insights from raw data and perform detailed market analysis to inform business strategy.

Reporting Proficiency: Proficient in managing syndicated reports, creating performance dashboards (using tools like PowerBI, Tableau, or Excel), and developing customer data platforms.
Behavioral Competencies:

Collaboration: Ability to collaborate across departments (Sales, Marketing, Finance), build credibility, and influence direct and indirect teams without always having formal authority.
